In 2021, Provost Kai Cambell initiated the first celebration of research awards and grants at UNC Asheville to honor faculty and staff who were willing to share their accomplishments with the campus. The following academic year, Interim Provosts Kimberly van Noort and Herman Holt expanded the original theme to include scholarly and creative works.
